Our Sales Process

Bringing Home a Highland Calf

At Ivylanehighlands, raising Highland cattle is more than just a hobby—it’s a way of life we truly enjoy and love sharing.

Each calf is raised here on our farm in West Central Ohio with care, attention, and respect for the breed.

Because we are a small, family-run farm, we only offer a limited number of calves each year.

Interested in One of Our Calves?

Whether you’re adding to your fold or just starting out, we’d love to hear from you.

The best place to start is by reaching out and telling us a little about what you’re looking for. We’re always happy to answer questions and help you decide if a Highland is the right fit for you.

Availability

We advertise calves on our website as they become available.

If none are listed, it simply means we are currently sold out—something that happens often with our small program. We encourage you to check back or contact us about upcoming calves.

Pricing

We do not list pricing publicly, as we prefer to speak directly with each buyer and ensure the best match between calf and home.

Reserving a Calf

A farm visit is required to reserve a calf. A calf cannot be reserved by simply viewing on our website. This ensures you are fully aware of the health, temperament and overall condition of the animal.  Plus, we want to get to know our customers and have an opportunity to answer any questions you may have directly.

Once you’ve selected a calf, a small non-refundable deposit is required to hold.

  • Deposits will go toward the final purchase price
  • Calves are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Your calf will be marked on the website as reserved, once the deposit is received

Payment & Pickup

The remaining balance is due prior to or at pickup.

Calves are ready for their new farms after weaning or typically 6 months of age.

Calves are picked up here at Ivylanehighlands farm. Buyers are responsible for transportation.

Note

We take pride in raising healthy, well-cared-for calves in a low-stress environment.

Just as importantly, we care about where they go. We reserve the right to refuse a sale if we feel it’s not the right fit—for both the calf and the buyer.
